I recently watched a program on the Science Channel entitled Futurescapes, which talked about the world of the future as it was being built by the technologies of the present. It spoke of ‘brain-enhancement’ chips, ‘mind-machine’ interfaces, cybernetically-modified humans and artificial intelligence. While the technology was all very fascinating, and the ethical questions raised by the creation of A.I. were somewhat thought-provoking, I could not help but notice the faultiness behind the basic philosophies of many of the personalities interviewed, as well as the blatantly obvious point-of-view that the producers of the program were obviously wishing for its viewers to lean towards: The brain is the supreme originator of all things that make us ‘human’; the soul does not exist, and what would be considered a soul is a happenstance of some neurological ‘firings’; that humans will and should inevitably ‘upgrade’ and enhance their brains and bodies through these new technologies in order to ‘evolve’ in a kind of keep up with the Jones’ consumerism; and finally, we are left with the idea that we should ‘leave the Earth’ to our robotic progeny, who will inevitably be better and more efficient than we are.
The faultiness in all of this lies first in foremost in the complete ignorance (unconscious or willful) of the fact that we as humans are already perfect and divine, it is just that the vast majority does not see or believe this due to personal beliefs, social conditioning, and the general conditions of the sleep of matter. Secondly, the soul is a very real thing, and it has little to do with the brain or neurons. These materialists are looking in the wrong part of the body. While there have been some advances in the knowledge of ‘gut intelligence’ and even the idea of a secondary ‘brain’ in the digestive area (although this too is just one of the three major intelligence/energy centers, along with the heart and the head), the main ‘movers and shakers’ of science seem to be far from grasping that concept, as they are very brain-centric, and almost obsessive with the concept of manipulating that organ. The brain and the nervous system acts as more of a regulation and ‘filtration’ system, funneling the limitless Light vibrations of the dimensions into something we can handle in our current stage of evolution, whatever that may be, depending on the person. The brain is NOT the originator of the soul, or even the mind, for that matter. It’s something akin to an electrical transformer.
It is repeated throughout the program that ‘body awareness’ stops at the flesh at present. The experiences of mystics, saints, and sages throughout the millennia are completely disregarded in this form of philosophical science, which seems to be at the spearhead of the “mainstream” of scientific advance, for the betterment of mankind. Although, it was touched on a couple of times of the potential for this system of human ‘enhancement’ to be available depending on economic status. The more money, the more enhancement, and hence, the further ability of the economic elite to dominate the increasingly impoverished masses.
But there have been techniques to ‘enhance’ man to his perfect form for millennia, it is just that only the brave few have completed this to the point of ascension. I have spoken before of the proven sciences of T’ai Chi and Chi Kung in the east, as well as the Yogic arts, and the various forms of eastern and western mystical practices brought forth by great masters like Buddha and Christ Jesus. These spiritual-science practices strengthen the vital or spiritual body of man, which ultimately gives rise to and animates the physical body.
The dogmatically atheistic philosophy of mainstream materialist science does not even acknowledge that such a thing exists. The seemingly external electricity of man is just another anomaly to be disregarded. But if we couple these types of practices that essentially make the physical and spiritual bodies merge as one in all dimensions, with the true nutrition that the physical bodies needs, there is no need for any sort of cybernetic ‘enhancement’. Now I’m definitely not a Luddite by any means, and I do see a great potential for technology and robotics to advance healthcare (when used appropriately in tandem with natural healing methods), and enable humankind to convert to a more ‘people-based’ economy, that would allow humans to pursue the type of creative artistic, scientific and spiritual discovery and advancement that is our birthright. There is wondrous potential for all of this.
Sadly, by looking at words and deeds, it would appear that those in ‘control’ of the mainstream of society don’t really seem to want or believe in this potential reality, nor do they really seem to be concerned with the ethics behind what is currently being pushed as ‘science’. They appear to be either still caught in the illusion of matter and the paradigm of materialism, or they just want everyone else to be. As a whole, the mass of humanity is still very much controlled by the little ‘e’, ego, which is ultimately concerned with its own self-affirmation and survival within its material world of existence.
It is the mistake of materialist science and culture to subscribe to the notion that creation emanates from matter. This backwards paradigm causes many inconvenient truths to be labeled as ‘anomalies’, and eventually swept under the rug, as if they did not exist. If we look at what could be seen as the ‘positive’ mode of creation as a ‘pentacle’; the star shape sigil used in ‘pagan’ occult ritual, with the top point representing the realm of Spirit or aether ‘above’, which then emanates and gives power to the four elements, as encircled in the totality of existence; then this materialist paradigm can be likened to a ‘pentagram’; the upside down star shaped sigil used in ‘dark’, or “Satanic” occultism which has its source of power and creation emanating from the forces of matter ‘below’, which then creates the elements.
In recognizing ourselves in our ‘whole-ness’, and integrating what would seem like ‘opposing’ forces, we move toward liberation of ourselves and all beings. To refer back to the ‘opposing’ diagrams of the two paradigms of manifestation, both of which are ‘imbalanced’ in their own way as well as ‘correct’ in their own way. If we look at the work of Rudolph Steiner, he points out that Satan or Ahriman is the dark or imbalanced side of matter: cold, mechanistic, animalistic, and embodied by imbalance in our lower energy centers (chakras). Meanwhile, Lucifer is the imbalanced side of the etherial forces above: hot, egotistical, self-absorbed, and embodied by imbalance in our higher energy centers. The two polarizing forces make up the concept of the devil, which tempts, distracts, and leads us away from the truth of things when we become imbalanced in either direction. Steiner concludes that one of the prime functions of the Christ in this realm is to balance out these two necessary forces of ‘opposition’. All things strive towards equilibrium. I would say that a “true” picture of manifestation may look something more like this:
The Dekagram, in occultic symbolism, in this form represents the continuous concentrated operations of the Ten Sephiroth in nature. The Tree of Life and the Sephiroth are represented in both the grand-scale architecture of creation, as well as in the microcosm of the human being (all though we are actually much larger than we think). For those who may be unfamiliar with the Tree of Life and the Sephiroth, I will quote the British Christian Mystic and Occultist, Dion Fortune:
“The Creator is conceived of as bringing the universe into manifestation through a series of Divine Emanations, ten in number. These are called the Ten Holy Sephiroth, and are represented in a diagram as arranged in a particular pattern. This is the famous Tree of Life, the key to all symbolism.”
This image of the dekagram shows the continual and cyclical nature of the ‘wheel of creation’, as well as the continual balancing of positive and negative energies within the sphere of creation. Because, in truth, the creation didn’t happen from ‘above’ or ‘below’; it encircles all of reality and happens continuously. It has no beginning and no end.
The human body has been said to be a ‘microcosm’ of the universe. The Divine Mind emanates the Self, or ‘divine spark’ that is housed inside the soul or sheath, which acts as a sort of data storage device. The spiritual body is then created, which is the “electrical matrix” that gives life and literal form to the flesh body. This is given credence by some scientists who are brave enough to work outside the established paradigm. These scientists are finding that DNA works as electrical ‘receivers’, and that the genetic pattern lies in the field of consciousness itself, not in the physical structure.
When humans eventually discover and accept the truth about our design, and how to use that truth we will see massive advances in health and wellness amongst a peoples. It is our beliefs in these illusions about our bodies that have been presented to us through various societal institutions, that is one of the main causes of illness among people today. We have allowed ourselves to become disconnected from our source of power and vitality.
As Father Paul Blighton said, “The laws of the Flesh Body must be vigorously and diligently observed if they are to reconstruct and control the Kundalini Force. Thus, the Flesh Body may enter into the Realization of the existence or the SELF. The laws of the Flesh Body are: 1. Right body function 2. Right breathing 3. Right thinking 4. Right action 5. Right prideless humility 6. Right mindfulness 7. Tolerance in love.”
In the process of ‘knowing thyself’, it is imperative that we work on maintaining the correct functioning of our ‘bodies’ while on this plane, as health and vitality are key to doing the work that is needed to be done. You can’t be of much service to others if you are in a constant state of dis-ease, nor will you be of much good to yourself. While their can be miraculous revelations that occur during states of great illness, I would prefer to keep things in balanced, working order unless impossible. There are varying ways to go about this and varying factors to consider, and there are multitudes of resources and techniques that can help with our goals of harmonizing and synchronizing our ‘bodies’.
When we are in good health with things like proper nutrition and proper exercise for ALL your bodies; this allows the bodies to be at ease, which makes it easier for the mind to be at ease (this also works other way ’round). With a calm mind, we all know it is easier to do the inner work of communing with the Soul and Self within, and not having a lot of static interference jumbling It’s guiding messages. With the times being as they are, and the dawn of the Age being as it is; it is imperative that we all learn how to master the functioning of our ‘bodies’, and “get right with God”.
Looking to the dilemmas of a very possible transhumanist and technocratic future: I see a potential world in the future where the truth of the bodies and spiritual development may be suppressed, much as they were in feudalistic times. Those who wish to develop themselves the ‘old fashioned’ way through spiritual technique and true nutrition would be laughed at, scorned, and even persecuted. The wealthiest elite would be the most ‘enhanced’ with the merging of technology in an effort to ‘create God’. Those confused masses left in a neo-feudalistic world would be left dumbed-down and impoverished, dreaming of the next gadget they could afford to put in themselves. Much like people today who buy i-phones and flat-screen TVs for social status, but can barely afford to pay bills or feed their families. To quote Ray Kurzweil, renowned inventor, transhumanist, and head of Google’s artificial intelligence and technology, from his book, The Age of Spiritual Machines:
“..control over large systems of machines will be in the hands of a tiny elite- just as it is today, but with two differences. Due to improved techniques, the elite will have greater control over the masses; and because human work will no longer be necessary, the masses will be superfluous: a useless burden on the system. If the elite (are) ruthless, they may simply decide to exterminate the mass of humanity. If they are humane, they may use propaganda, or other psychological or biological techniques to reduce the birth rate, until the mass of humanity becomes extinct: leaving the world to the elite. Or, if the elite consists of soft-hearted liberals, they may decide to play the role of good shepherds to the rest of the human race. They will see to it that everyone’s physical needs are satisfied, that all children are raised under psychologically hygienic conditions, that everyone has a wholesome hobby to keep him busy, and that anyone who may become dissatisfied undergoes “treatment” to cure his “problem.” Of course, life will be so purposeless that people will have to be biologically or psychologically engineered either to remove their need for the power process or make them “sublimate” their drive for power into some harmless hobby. These engineered human beings may be happy in such a society, but they will most certainly not be free. They will have been reduced to the status of domestic animals.”
Of course, no future is set in stone, and in the end, and all experience within the Mind of God (within whom we live, move, and have our being) is beyond good and evil. All levels of suffering, no matter how unconscionable, is still temporal; and death, no matter how terrible the circumstances may seem surrounding it, is still merely an illusion- a transition to another level of existence. It is necessary for the Beast to be built and temptation to exist for mankind to have the necessary resistance to develop into a Christed humanity. Christ Jesus was laughed at, mocked, scorned, persecuted, tortured and killed in a most brutal fashion before he reached resurrection and ascension. Humanity, in all probability, will need to go through similar experiences on both group and individual levels, for those brave enough to take it on, in order for humanity to become Christed, bringing about the ‘second coming’ and the New Heaven and the New Earth. It’s not always going to be pleasurable, comfortable, or fun; nor should it be. That’s not what we signed on for when we incarnated here on the most challenging level of existence. The night is always darkest before the dawn. Christ Jesus after all did say, “I come not to bring peace, but a sword”.
Whoever has ears should hear. This is in service to and for the liberation of ALL Beings…
