RETHINKING FLU SHOT SEASON (PART 2)

“Man’s place is most exalted when he obeys Mother Nature’s laws.”

While the level of “safety” regarding injecting known toxic chemical preservatives and heavy metals into the body seems to be debatable depending upon whom you ask, the fact that this is done, is not. Those looking to walk the path of spiritual purification should realize that the physical body is the vessel of our spiritual experience and polluting it with toxins, heavy metals, etc. obfuscates and clouds our ability to maintain conscious connection to the less dense energy of the Higher Self. This is due to interference with critical neural and chemical processes of the body that are needed intact in order to fully connect with the electrical-spirit body matrix and the Self.

As I’m sure you could probably guess, I do not vaccinate myself (I don’t have children). However, I do actively maintain my immune system through a program involving natural supplementation and other simple means. So as promised, here is a list of the supplements that I take and recommend for those who are looking to protect their immune system during this time of the year:

1. BOVINE COLOSTRUM

colostrum3colostrum2

A product of the mammary glands during late pregnancy, colostrum is the first food any newborn mammal consumes. Colostrum contains antibodies to protect the newborn from disease and is what initially develops the infant’s immune system. A 2007 Italian study showed that supplementation of bovine (cow) colostrum proved to be 3 times more effective than the flu vaccine. The product I use is developed by Sovereign Laboratories. While it can be a bit pricey ($99 for 16 oz.) its known health benefits are numerous and I highly recommend it. This supports your immune system at the gut level. After all, it was Hippocrates, the “father of medicine” who stated, “All disease begins in the gut.”  Below are three PDF documents illustrating what I am talking about:

2. YOUNGEVITY BEYOND TANGY TANGERINE VITAMIN & MINERAL SUPPLEMENT

beyond tangy beyond tangy 2

A personal favorite of mine, the high-potency nutraceutical supplements of this company performed extremely well in a Clemson University study which showed them to kill cancer cells while leaving the healthy cells intact. With an ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) score of 8000- which means that has extremely potent antioxidant capabilities, the supplement is packed with energy boosting nutrients, antioxidant support, prebiotic and probiotic blend, over 500mg of natural amino acids, 115 fruits and vegetables and includes vitamins, minerals, plant minerals, phytonutrients and all-natural flavors. Tangy Tangerine does not include any artificial sweeteners, emulsifiers or preservative. With 1250mg of vitamin C, which equates to 2080% of the FDA recommendation, this will boost your immune system. The fact that it is a liquid supplement makes it more readily absorbed by the body. However, I suggest you sip on this as opposed to chugging it, or you will consume more than you can absorb at once.  Below is a PDF document of describing the Clemson study I mentioned:

3. GARDEN OF LIFE VITAMIN D SPRAY

The Sun is a healer and giver of life, which is why sunshine is so important to our immune system. It is through our own version of photosynthesis that the hormone commonly known as vitamin D is formed with the aid of cholesterol in the body. Most people living in urban environments and working indoors a deficient of this essential hormone. Long known to aid in immunity, vitamin D is crucial during cold/flu season. For this I use a spray, again I avoid pills as they are more difficult to absorb. I take six sprays, which equates to 6000 I.U.s daily.  Below is a PDF document concerning the use of vitamin d for immune health:

4. COLLOIDAL/NANO SILVER

Since ancient times liquid colloidal silver has been known as an antimicrobial; all throughout the ancient world these properties were known and esteemed. Hippocrates promoted its use to heal non-healing ulcerations. The immune benefits of silver are legendary. The product I use is Silver Biotics Nano/Colloidal blend. I know the concept of drinking silver may seem a bit weird to some, but it basically tastes like water. This supplement is for daily use. However, there are more potent pharmaceutical-grade brands out there for use when symptoms occur. One of these is the “Silver Bullet” colloidal silver put out by Infowars Life in conjunction with Global Healing Center.  Below is a PDF document on use colloidal silver to combat viral pathogens:

5. NASCENT IODINE

iodine

Harmful microbes cannot survive in iodine. While I take this supplement to protect my thyroid from radiation in the air, soil and water that has become increasingly prevalent in my part of the country, this iodine supplement derived from Tibetan pink rock salt has general immune supporting effects as well. This supplement exhibits some detoxification effects when you begin taking it. It also aids in support and decalcification of the pineal gland in the brain, which is critical in the connection to the spiritual centers of the body.  Below are some PDF documents regarding this wonderful and essential element:

6. MUSHROOM IMMUNE POWDER

Another ancient healing remedy, I put this blend of organic Shitake, Maitake, Oyster, and Reishi mushrooms in my coffee in the morning. The mushrooms in this blend are among the most researched and known to provide immune support.  Below is a PDF document illustrating their healing benefits:

7. PRO-EM 1 RAW PROBIOTIC

proem1

This daily probiotic cleanse works for detoxification in the digestive system, helping to supply bio-available nutrients to the body while supporting the growth of other beneficial microbes in the digestive system. Again this is one focused on the health of the gut that reflects on the rest of the body. I had been having ear issues for months, then I took this and experience a day or so of detox effects, then my ear issues were gone. Probiotics in general are a good thing to take regardless as maintaining healthy gut flora is key for overall health and wellness. However the bacterial environment needs vary from person to person, so you will need to find out what is right for you.  Again, PDF documentation on the health benefits of probiotics can be found here:

8. HERBAL TEAS

YGT-45004-8

I’m pretty sure every knows about this one. A little lemon in some green tea; Echinacea and elderberry teas; I typically use medicinal teas with organic ingredients that are aimed at respiratory tract health during cold/flu season. These teas typically contain peppermint, ginger, cinnamon, mullein leaf, thyme leaf, licorice toot, and eucalyptus leaf. There are also various respiratory support blends that you can take as dropper elixirs. I typically look for those that use glycerin as opposed to alcohol, as alcohol is an endocrine disruptor.

Zinc is another big one, as it is a mineral known to be instrumental in maintaining proper immune function. In addition to supplementation, there are additional elements involved with boosting and maintaining immunity:

FOOD

4colorsealGIF  Non-GMO.Project_logo

This one’s a real no-brainer- Don’t eat crap and you won’t feel like crap. This means cutting out processed foods that have ingredients you can’t pronounce; not eating foods with refined sugars, high-fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners; refraining from eating fast food (duh); not eating meat every day of the week, and when you do, making sure it is grass-fed, humanely raised and not pumped full of antibiotics and other chemicals; doing your best to buy non-GMO and organically grown fruits and veggies that aren’t doused in pesticides; and if you can, buy local and know where your food is coming from, or better yet, learn to grow and raise your own.

DRINK

If you live in a city and you drink water straight unfiltered out of the tap, stop. The list of harmful chemicals that ends up in tap water is numerous, and all of them will compromise your immune system in some way. I suggest getting a good water filtration system that filters out fluoride, glyphosate (pesticide), chlorine and other chemicals in addition to bacteria and sediment. If you can’t afford that (like me), then drink distilled water with a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar with “the mother” in it. Bragg’s makes an excellent product that I use daily. I realize that may sound strange to some, but the health benefits of this product are numerous, and the distillation process, while it gets rid of most of the garbage, it also strips out everything else as well.

In addition to drinking clean water, stay away from things like soda, energy drinks, and sugary fruit juices. While fermented beverages can be beneficial, drinking alcohol into excess is always a bad idea and will compromise your immune system. Alcohol (as well as excess caffeine) depletes the body of zinc. I don’t know how many times in the past I ended up sick (not just hung over) after a night of hard drinking. Rule of thumb, if you’re starting to feel a buzz, you should probably stop. I know, Captain Buzz-kill over here…

EXERCISE

chi-kung-warmup

I know it’s everyone’s favorite part of staying healthy. The fact is that many American’s lead very sedentary lifestyles, leaving their bodies in a weakened state. However, you don’t need to do Crossfit or work out like you’re training for a decathlon to boost your immune system. Myself, I do kung fu and train for that a couple times a week, but really just 20 minutes of aerobic movement a day works well. I’m a big fan of practices like Chi Kung and Tai Chi, which are a low-impact cross between martial arts, meditation and yoga, but far less intense. People from 8 to 108 can do these exercises, and both are long renowned for their health and longevity benefits.

SLEEP

Another “no-brainer”- try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. While everyone is different as far as what their body needs, 8 hours is a good rule of thumb. Again, I have had many instances in the past where I only got a few hours of sleep and ended up sick. For those night-owls, it can be difficult to go to bed early, but human physiology isn’t really meant to be going on and about after midnight. This is a relatively new phenomenon since the advent of the electric lightbulb. That damn Edison…

DRUGS

Drugs are bad, m’kay. Seriously though, synthetic drugs (as opposed to plants and herbs in their natural state or with minimal alteration), either pharmaceuticals or street drugs, are not really good for you. They alter and subvert the natural chemical processes of the body. These natural processes are needed to be functioning in an optimal way if you want to be healthy. I don’t know of any healthy people who are on a multitude of drugs, and I don’t know of any people who got healthy by taking a multitude of drugs.

STRESS

Humans are one of the only animals that cannot make their own vitamin c within their bodies. They are also the only animal that holds onto stress long after the initial stressful event is over. One good method is doing the full body shiver/shake; start from the head and shake and vibrate your body all the way down to the toes- shake it all out. Another good method is- surprise- meditation. For that see my 365-day challenge posting. For the basics, just go for the deep-breathing technique coupled with the thought clearing. When in doubt, just breathe: long, slow, and deep from the belly.

This is by no means a comprehensive list. And of course consult your healthcare professional before starting any new health and supplementation program. I am not a doctor, I am just saying what I know works for myself. Everyone’s body and nutritional needs are a little different and you will need to find out what works best for you. So that being said, I hope that you were able to find this information helpful to you and your family in some way. So until next time, take care and God bless.
